TV Chef/presenter ,food Archaeologist, author and broadcaster Alan Coxon has been awarded the "Maitrise Escoffier" award by the Conseil Culinaire Francais .
The award on recommendation of the President of the Association Culinaire is in recognition for achievements within the culinary profession.
Alan who received notice of the award in the post says ,"this was a complete surprise and a great honour and privilege to have been recognised by such a leading culinary body and by my peers ".
Alan who has worked in a variety of hotels and restaurants around the world including the Loews hotel Monte Carlo where he spent time working in the Michelin star restaurant the "Foie Gras",his own restaurant in the Isle of Man to opening and running the largest 4 star hotel in Paris leading a brigade of 65 International chefs .
Alan has also developed a global following for his TV presentations such as Ever Wondered about food for BBC2 , Coxon`s Royal Feast for BBC Worldwide to 4 years as guest presenter on the Gloria Hunniford Open house and 4 years on the UK TV food networks.
Alan has written 3 books to date and has also created a unique range of multi award winning food products , including a 15th century Mediaeval Old English "Ale-Gar" ,a Roman period Vinaigre and an Ancient Greek Vinaigre All three products are now being exported and to 9 countries around the globe.
