Three Agricola products awarded with 2 golden stars each in Bruxelles


Three Agricola products: Happy Chicken, Happy Eggs and Sibiu Salami, have been awarded last week, in Bruxelles, with two golden stars “Superior Taste Award” by International Taste & Quality Institute – iTQi, distinction which is a recognition of the quality of food products, having a superior taste. At this edition have participated 1360 products worldwide, including 11 Romanian products.


“Superior Taste Award” is granted based on “blind” tasting, meaning that an organoleptic analysis is performed without knowing the product packaging and origin (manufacturer), by a jury composed of representatives of the most prestigious 15 European associations of chefs and sommeliers – opinion leaders and experts in tasting listed in Michelin and Gaut Millau guides (Maitres Cuisiniers de France, Academy of Culinary Arts, Hellenic Chefs’ Association, Académie Culinaire de France, Verband der Köche Deutschlands, Federación de Asociaciones de Cocineros de Espańa, Federerazione dei Cuochi Italiana, Ĺrets Kock of Sweden, Euro-Toques, Gilde Van Nedrlandse Meesterkoks, Associacao de Cozinheiros Profisionais de Portugal, Craft Guild of Chefs, Turkish Cooks Association, World Master Chefs Society (WMCS) and Association de la Sommellerie Internationale – ASI).

The fact that on this occasion have obtained two golden stars also the Eggs from happy hens (raised on ground and with the opportunity of going out to the open air) that we produce in Avicola Lumina, Constanta and also our most valuable assortment – AGRICOLA Sibiu Salami produced by SALBAC, it triples our satisfaction. “Superior Taste Award” allows us to display the prize for 3 years on the label of the awarded product, to distinguish it. “Superior Taste Award” is classified by stars: three gold stars receive exceptional products that have accumulated at least 90% of points, two star outstanding products noted between 80% and 90%, and products with score between 70% and 80% receive one star and the mark ”noticeable taste”.


AGRICOLA Sibiu Salami was awarded also on May 30, 2016 in Budapest, with the Silver Award by the International Institute for Quality Selections – Monde Selection, by a professional and totally independent jury, consisting of 70 professionals, chefs with Michelin stars, members of the French Culinary Academy, technology engineers, university lecturers, nutrition and health consultants, chemical engineers. «Blind» taste tests are doubled by laboratory tests, which Monde Selection carries with public and private institutions, such as CERIA, BRUCEFO, Institut Meurice and Euroconsultant. AGRICOLA Sibiu Salami is the only meat product in Romania awarded at Monde Selection.
